Serving in this role you be parents as they wait for the programming to end. You will have the opportunity to tangibly love these individuals by providing them with food to purchase as they wait and socialize. In addition, you will be able to build relationships with them. Your connection to some of these parents may be the only connection they have with a church. By being this person you have the unique opportunity to shine Jesus’ love on all those who spend time in the Café on Vertical Basketball nights.
We hope that you will consider joining us as we love, serve and disciples the children and their families!
In this role your responsibilities will include (but may not be limited to):
+Overseeing the purchase of snacks and supplies for the Vertical Basketball Café nights
+ Arrive before programming begins to prepare snacks/food for the parents to purchase
+ Hang out in the Café throughout the night to make the Café a welcoming place for the parents
+ Build relationships with the parents
+ Collect cash payments and make change as needed
+ Wipe down counters and tables to keep Kitchen and Café tidy and clean
The ability to operate kitchen appliances safely (dishwasher, oven, toaster etc.) is an asset. Training will be provided if needed. The ability to do quick math in order to calculate change is also an asset.
Commitment: 3 hours on Monday nights for the 10-week Vertical Basketball season.
Recommended: Being prepared to have organic conversations with those enjoying the café space, including gospel conversations, is very valuable.
