Night to Shine 2024 is an incredible one-night event, centred on God's love for people with special needs. Emmanuel is partnering with the Tim Tebow Foundation to host this event on Friday February 9, 2024.
All volunteers are required to attend the training and communication meeting on Monday, January 29, 2024, from 7-9pm at Emmanuel Barrie (374 Salem Rd. Barrie, On).
Night to Shine involves a wide variety of volunteer roles. Most importantly, we need 100 screened Buddies to host and welcome our guests. Everyone serving as a"Buddy" is required to complete Emmanuel's Safe Church Screening program, which involves an interview, training, a vulnerable sector police check and requires that you attend Emmanuel for at least 6 months. These insurance-mandated screening steps are intended to help keep vulnerable people safe.
Other roles include parking and limo, hair and makeup touch-ups, Welcome team, kitchen, and guest experiences (shoe shine, popcorn etc.). Everyone involved, over the age of 18, in any role must provide a 2022/23 Vulnerable Sector Police Check prior to the event. A reference letter will be sent to you.
Safe Church Screening is a one-time application and training program for everyone that has contact with children or vulnerable people through a program at Emmanuel. Upcoming Safe Church training sessions are at 6:30pm on Tuesday, November 13, 2023 and on Monday, February 1, 2024. You can register for that training session by accessing the link below:
